Contract 4: Colorado River Intake & Pump Station Contract No. 4 includes the construction of a river intake and pump station on the Colorado River approximately 2 miles downstream of Longhorn Dam. The pump station will be on the north bank of the river on a site previously occupied by a residential structure. The pump station will include a reinforced concrete wet well that will extend approximately 50 feet below the ground. A 36-inch conduit will extend from the wet well approximately 135 feet to the river channel. Stainless steel intake screens will be installed on the end of the 36-inch conduit to carry raw water from the river to the wet well. Vertical turbine pumps will pump the raw water 15.5 miles to the reservoir and water treatment plant. The pump station is designed for an ultimate capacity of 16 mgd. Contract No. 4 was awarded to Payton Construction, Inc. on April 27, 2004 for the amount of $2,810,000. The schedule for completion is 365 days from the date of Notice to Proceed. | | |
